I have felt your anxiety first hand having gone through several different surgeries, including cataract surgery, first on my left eye and then my right, going on five years ago. I went from having to wear glasses full time to not needing glasses at all, so I see the surgery as one of the best things I've ever done; because I personally hated eyeglasses more than anything I've ever had to deal with. The worst part of it is having to deal with wearing the eye patch for several days and then having to use the drops and ointments for a week or two... but I'm sure all will go well and you will be glad that you chose to go through it.
Prayers will be with you for a smooth surgery and an uneventful healing process. Please keep us posted on your progress.
