Guys, I just want to say what an awesome time I had this weekend. The Dinner on the town, the Fruit Jar in a hurricane, and the cook out. Final count was 47 attendees to the cookout and that is outstanding. That is the largest group event yet!! Well done, fellas. Whether lies or laughter, there wasn’t a quiet moment from 11:30 till at least after 4 o’clock. Getting to meet so many new people, putting some names to faces to guys and gals I have met through our site, hanging out with old friends(and young ones), it was a blast. The food Sunday was killer! Big thanks to Gsxrman, DonDon and Slab Slinger for bringing their fryers and grease and frying up a pile of fish and hush puppies. Deltabull and his famous greens, Alton’s tartar sauce was the real deal, too. The sides and deserts were fine fine fine! I didn’t get a chance to find out who all brought what so leave a comment if you did bring a food item so I can say thank you. I tried to eat everything and almost made it! I didn’t have a bad bite of food all afternoon! Whoever brought the layered desert dish, well, I think I’m in love. I think MacPappy had something to do with that Cheesecake and I might just love him, too, for it! I do apologize for the communication break down right there before the event! Thank you to Gsxrman and CliffordN for helping plan and execute this event again; as well as SlabSlinger, DonDon, 4theThump, G, EZ-poleholder, Deltabull, Roach, MacPappy, Rustyjig, crappiejim, for bringing food and helping us cook and for helping reach out to companies for our awesome door prizes. Thank you to Millennium, B’n’M, PICO Lures, Vans Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops of Pearl, Pryme1 Camo, Thump City Crappie Rods, FishStalker lures, DeltaBulls Custom Cranks, and Bryan Wesley’s Custom Jigheads. Last but surely not least a big Thank You to Slab!! Both for providing us this platform and for taking the time out of his schedule to haul Billbob and himself up to join us in our festivities!
I will have an official write up on some of the events of the weekend but right now it looks like a bomb went off in my boat, my back remembers every wave from the ride back to Tommy’s in a 20mph head wind, and my gastrointestinal tract is wondering what the heck I was thinking yesterday. So on that note, it’s time for a nap!
For those of you who won door prizes, and that should be everyone who attended, please take a moment to call, email, or drop a post on their Facebook pages thanking these companies for their support, not only in supporting our group here but for donating these prizes to support us as local anglers and local customers. Let them know you won it at the Crappie.com/RCBA Fish Fry event, too. Lets say thank you to these guys and help support them throughout the year! Let us let them know how much we appreciate it and maybe they will support us again throughout the year. If you need help with contact information for any of the prizes don’t hesitate to send me a pm, I can get you pointed in the right direction.
