Great folks for sure!
My pops and I met up with Rees this past weekend. As always we caught some fish, learned some new things, told some stories and most importantly had a great time. Every time we meet up with John we learn a new Dixie term we can take back to the "Upper South".. This weekend we was given actually 3 new vocabulary words.
1. Mama-law=mother in law
2. Daddy-law= father in law
3. Loose water=open water with no brush or cover
And one last thing for all the out of towners that may be reading this. Remember you are coming to someone's home. Respect the local folk's things, respect their ways, and leave a little extra for the folks that are providing services. This includes the store clerks, bait shops, filling station attendants, bartenders, etc. They all do their jobs with a smile. Hospitality is everything in life. I fish and work all over the Central US and the people in Mid South are some of the best.

That is why we keep coming back. If everyone was as nice and conserdiate as the folks down there the world would be much better off.

It is not possible to beat Southern Hospitality. Yes I enjoy getting to catch a few fish that are way bigger than fish at home but that is not the best part of visiting Mississippi on fishing vacations. The best part is just being there and getting to enjoy Southern Hospitality. The people are considerate and personable.I get teased back home for enjoying visiting my favorite restaurants and eating like a king.Good food I enjoy.
I only get a limited amount of time to be there but I love every single day of getting to be there. Mississippi is a great state.....

Heck I always thought loose water was after it went through the spillway. Learn something every day on here.

I agree with everything that Bushwacker said! I have never met John but everyone that we have met in MS have been great people. I mean from the restaurants, bait shops, gas stations, the fishermen at the ramp! Those guys are very helpful.
We have fished all over different states. MS is for sure different from anywhere else. Yes the fishing is go also! Thanks to all of you for your southern hospitality!
