    Default Spring Camp Updates

Well ladies and fellas, it looks like this years Annual Crappie.com Spring Camp(hosted by the RCBA) event will be the largest yet. According to a recent count we are looking at a possible attendance of 40 people with the chance of seeing over 50+. We are all looking forward to a great weekend spent with friends, a fun easy going fruit jar (Sat. the 13th) to put some money in someone’s pocket, a night out at a local restaurant(night of Friday the 12th I believe) and for an awesome fish fry on Sunday April 14th(we will start gathering to prep, cook, and tell lies around 1pm with food being served around 3-3:30).

Now that we are closing in on the date, I wanted to ask all those who are coming to let us know as accurate a head count for you or your group as you can. With such a great turnout, it will help us judge how much stuff we need to plan on bringing(food, fillets, drinks, flatware, and such). We still have a few items that need volunteers to cover. If you are feeling generous, take a read over the list on the event page. As always, I encourage anyone and everyone to bring a dish. It is always great to sample everyone’s favorite homemade(or store bought!) sides and desserts!

Kids are welcome and encouraged to join us, I know mine will be running around. We will bring some hot dogs to throw on the grill for those kiddos. Just give us a heads up if you can so we can plan to bring enough.

The event is BYOB of course, but let’s just keep in mind that it is a family event and it’s up to everyone to not get too carried away. Saturday night we are trying to find a nice place for a fire big enough to tell a few lies around.

We have had some awesome donations for door prizes from our patrons and sponsors and more stuff seems to roll in everyday. Firstly we must thank Slab and Crappie.com for making this all possible. I know we need to also thank and support B’n’M, PICO lures, PRYM1 Camo, Bass Pro Shops of Pearl, Vans Sporting Goods, Millennium Marine, Thump City Crappie Rods along with several local artists, DeltaBulls Custom Cranks, Bryan Wesley and his premium jigs and jig heads. We have also had few individuals pick up a rod or some lures to donate for this as well. THANK YOU!! If I have left anyone out PLEASE shoot me a message.

Lastly, I have received a few questions about selling equipment during the fish fry. This is absolutely encouraged. If you have any gear in your shop that you’re looking to sell bring it on! What better time than when your surrounded by a crowd of crappie fanatics. If you make or produce any tackle or lures and are interested in setting up a small table or booth to sell your wares, we encourage that, too!!

Donations to cover costs and expenses for this years event will be accepted but are not at all required. They can be given to Paul, Clifford, or my self. Any funds left over will be held to help with next years festivities!
