    Default new bow electronics

So, I have been boat shopping, again. I just love that new boat smell!!! Just about pulled the trigger on a 19 model Skeeter ZX225 Saturday, but I think I have decided to hold on to a bunch of that money (those things are crazy expensive!!!) . Instead I could spend some of it it on my boat.

Thinking about getting new TM and front sonar unit. I want a new Ultrex. My question is about the MEGA transducer in the foot? Is it worth it with a Helix 10 DI, or would I be better of getting something else entirely for the front of the boat? 360? PanOptix? Something else?

Since I did not spend 60K+ on a new Skeeter, the boss said I can do whatever I want in my boat. Currently have a Helix 12 SI G2 at dash, Helix 10 G2 Sonar (US2) at front, and 112 Ulterra Link as a TM. Don't really like the Ulterra, so I will be getting a Ultrex in its place, but can also change out front electronics. Will be keeping the 12 at Dash.

Alright gang, what can I do up front for about $5K. What would you do?

btw- this means im going to have an Ulterra and HB Helix 10 for sale shortly, if interested.

Love the ultrex, wish I had the mega built in for my 9 Helix up front. Would get a panoptix live scope and run on there as well. I use my bird mainly for mapping, and my 1st gen panoptix for presenting baits to the fish. Ordering my 93sv for the live scope today. Transducer to come soon. Can’t let momma see that much money leaving at one time!

With out a budget constraint I’d get Ultrex, live scope and one of the larger screen Garmin Units that is comparable with live scope. The 93 plus is a good unit but I understand the 7 series of units has much better clarity.

Prob due to pixelation and larger display of same image. Like the old big screen TVs. I have the 7” old panoptix and it was plenty. Just like 9” or larger. I’ve used all the way up to 12s in the birds. And would buy a 20” if I had the funds!

Hahahaha.....there IS a budget constraint. It is around 5k. (Much cheaper than new boat budget, however!)

Would I be able to use a DI transducer and Panoptic live ducer on the same head unit. Switch back and forth? Or would I need a second unit for DI and graph?

That I don’t know but I suspect there is a way. I would go to the Garmin page on BassBoatCentral and do some reading. I bet you there is hours of discussion on there about it.
