was looking at a list of the top 10 crappie lakes in usa Washington was number 2 below grenada its about half the size of okatibbee which surprised me anyone fish the lake much?

i thought about possibly takign a trip up north to fish i dont have a boat and it being a smaller lake id think it would be the best bank fishing lake

A ton of folks fish it hard during late winter to spring during the spawn. I don’t know how well you’d do bank fishing as most of it that’s accessible by car is private property. I’d bring a boat. I doubt you’d be disappointed. It’s a shallow lake so it warms up quickly. I’d check with Roy’s store for a report and tourney schedule. Also the cabins and everything spots fill quickly.

But there is a weir at the south end and a ditch below, a lot of bank fishing happens on that end of the lake.

It is not connected to the river so that’s why it’s not infested.

ya but it was first formed form the river

my uncle owns some property on okatibbee creek and he has about 10 oxbow lakes formed from the river years ago every 3 years or so during a bad flood it can overflow and new fish get in most of the oxbow lakes are just full of bluegill bowfin and gar every now and then ill catch a catfish if im lucky

oxbow lakes are super fun t fish though if u want bluegill and bullheads can always catch a mess since nobody fishes them besides birds in the summer

moon is fed from a ditch running from the cold water river. The carp came from there
