Default Bear Creek (Pickwick) lodging info

I am from over in AL, and typically in that forum, and got the suggestion to post this here.

My dad and I are looking to head over towards Pickwick and fish the Bear Creek portion. Any of you guys ever done this? Would love any advice on fishing it, but right now we are struggling to find a place to stay. That’s our biggest need. We’ve never been over that way. Thanks!!!

Great crappie fishing there! Mrs. Barnes who runs Mill Creek Marina has a couple of places there for rent.

Stay at the motel at Pickwick state park. About $80 a night. Restaurant in the motel is good also.

You might check at JP Coleman state park. It would be a couple of mile run up river . They have cabins and motel.
