Thread: Eagle Lake Fishing Trip

My son and I are planning a trip to Eagle Lake the last week of February and would greatly appreciate any local information?

We never have fished the lake!

I know it all depends on the weather but any tips would be greatly appreciated!

that time of year i would first look for bait balls in 15 - 20 ft of water last year they were suspended 8-10 foot with the bait, also i would never overlook the cypress trees in 4-5 foot. last year i caught fish shallow around that same time. so far its been a mild winter here so may i may be totally wrong.

Being a little more respectful might get you more responses. You just a lurker with a handle at 13 post after 2 years. Why question a man after any advice given? Not trying to be rude or anything, but what you expect out of a man or the internet

There was no disrespect intended Snubby!
It was just a general question because of the current lake level and flood warnings.
Someone that lives close to that area can give an accurate lake report.

Lake should be pretty steady, unless this water doesn’t get down, they will have roads closed. If water still high, lodging in the immediate area is iffy. Hope this river water leaves soon. Closed hunting season and may edge into fishing for some areas.

If you’re gonna be there a few days and want to learn from some of the best, book one day with a guide. Brad Chappell is hard to beat, if he is booked he’s got some other folks he can put ya on
