It can get too windy to haul gravel. The main thing is I don't have to crawl back and fourth over the bench seat 20 or 30 times a day. You can angle the paddles
if you are fishing down a bank and a cross wind keeps pushing you in and use your trolling motor off and on and run your line pretty straight.

I love the paddles. Having fished in the worst weather possible I’ve had to throw out chains, socks, and lower the paddles but under normal weather you won’t ever dig the socks and chains out.
