I’ve learned that stuff looks a lot smaller than it is. Cruise by one of those channel marker polls and see how small it looks on side image.

Yep, bought me one of those super gee wiz fish finders with side imaging and all that stuff. So excited! Then got a bunch of way points entered and set out for the lake today. Hey, I used to laugh at my dad trying to use a tv remote control but I think he was looking down from heaven busting his gut laughing at me trying to use this Helix unit. I had more lines, more dots on the screen than I could count. Don’t think I ever found what I was looking for! But it was a beautiful day on the water.

Redge LIKED above post
I think I ran you off from where you were fishing. If you saw a old bass tracker circling like it was lost—it was me.

3 times the depth works fine
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

Went out today (beautiful day) and reset my side image to 45 feet which seemed the help. But... I ran by the weather station to see how well it picked it up and it did but not show on the screen until I was about 50 ft past it at 6 mph. Is that normal? Is there a setting in Helix that will speed up the screen projection of the object?

Most folks say around 3-4 mph is the best speed for side imaging. Scroll speed should be equal to boat speed.
