    Default Okatibbee today

Went over just to map contours on a few areas this morning. Later I decided I might as well try pulling crankbaits there since I never had before. After 30 minutes I had 7 crappie and one catfish and a treble hook buried so deep in the end of my left Name: IMG_0446.JPG

I know that had to hurt. Hope the ER bill don't hurt you also. Be careful as this could be what old folks call "dog days" where wounds can get infected bad.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Well the doc gave me a big old antibiotic shot in the behind and two prescriptions for other antibiotics. I guess he thought I smelled kinda fishy and he’d better do his best. The 3 dang shots to numb my finger hurt worse than the hook.

I wish I had a video. The fish had two of the front treble hooks in his lower lip. Two of the rear trebles were in his gill plate. While I held the fish to keep it from flopping anymore, my brother in law cut the line with my scissors then cut the hooks out of the gill plate then the lip. It was quite a circus.

Good grief......that gives me the hibbiegivies. Friend of mine has done that twice and said he tried to "cowboy" up and yank it out but lost his nerve!

Been there/ done that several times. That’s why my side-cutter pliers are always close. I’ve yanked them out, pushed them thru, or wrapped line around the shank and popped them out. Never pleasant. I’ve been lucky I’ve not had to get one cut out.
Take care of it. The real pain will be the Dr bill.
