    Default Day one Grenada

Well it has to finally happen... Beautiful sunrise while crossing the lake this morning turned bad real soon. As we were putting the rods out the gnats covered is up. We tried the best we could but the bugs won the war. 3 shorts, 1 missed fish, and we are on our way up to Enid to finish the day. I swear they were so bad we could hardly breathe. Gotta stop by the carwash just to wash the gnats of the boat. Other fishermen here said today was the first day they had seen them.

Head net, long sleeves and Deep Woods only things that work. My son has to wear gloves too.
Those gnats will eat holes through the paint.

Haven't made my mind up yet but heading to either Butla, Sardis, or Enid Saturday/Sunday. Are they equally as bad there right now? I can handle the hot weather but those damn gnats turn a fishing trip sour really quick!!!

Made it to Enid and started around 11:00. Ended the day with 71. Only 9 keepers, but was another beautiful day.

2 of the best things for gnats is Vanilla Extract or this perfume by Victoria Secret Amber Rose. Believe me both work for gnats.

Something is in with the gnats that bite. My son got bite twice between his hat and facemask. By the time we got in the truck it looked like he had 2 baseballs on his forehead.

What I see at Grenada is some form of Midge. They don't bite but get in everything. I use a face mask so I don't breathe them in.
