You need to use rods with a lighter tip. I can see mine with snap weights up to 3 oz.

I also use braid for main line as it also helps to show action.

These numbers are .014 diameter and you are using .011. You would run deeper I imagine with that size line.

Get some tadpoles from offshore tackle and get their trolling app on your phone. Those will get them down and lot less line out.

I have that app and I always thought that the chart applied to the use with tadpoles was for pulling jigs. I never used it and/or tadpoles for pulling cranks because I figured the crankbait would cause it to go deeper than the chart says and then it wouldn't be exactly accurate. But maybe if you only used nearly lip-less crankbaits it wouldn't make any difference. Does anybody know what the effect is on the depth charts using crankbaits?

Precision trolling app gives for a 1 oz snap weight at 1.5 mph 55’ line out so figure alittle less for a 300 Bandit based on 18’ deep. Dummy me, didn’t see all the previous posts.

thats a great way to figure the depth of a lure when using snap weights or attached weights to line. Thanks for posting it the way you did.
