    That sounds sensible to me!

No, the CO2 cartridge is not punctured until the bobbin/pill dissolves & activates the spring mechanism to puncture the cartridge and release the CO2 into the air bladders of the PFD. (or until you pull the ripcord manually)

Mine went off behind me while I was fishing and I was alone. Scared the dookie out of me.

My newly recharged vest went off on my console dash this AM. Scared the crap out of me and my clients. The humidity was 1000% and the fog was so thick and wet early it ran off my windshield. I guess any question I had of it working properly are gone. BTW, the recharge kit I had in the boat expires in 3 months so I guess it's just as well. Now I have to buy a new recharge kit PLUS a spare.

I have had mine inflate a couple times when I left them in a compartment in the boat. I started putting them in the garage when I get home. Dang that reminds me!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
