Haven't tried those, but I have used crappie bites to catch bream...

Anyone ever used them for bream? I’m having a time tracking down crickets and I may be making a trip to the pearl river in the morning

Crickets are great bait (my favorite) for bream. Many of the Walmarts sell them.

Found crickets, but I think I’ll just use a 1/32 hair jig and nibbles or the gulp maggots. I won’t have to chase the jigs around the boat when I knock them over. Thanks fellers

Walmart has crickets here.
Our Walmart has them, but the lady at the counter told me most of them are dead and will be getting fresh ones tomorrow. I’ll be leaving early and can’t wait til the truck comes. Also, if you’ve ever smelled dead crickets you know it’s not pleasant. I usually carry 300 down, but I’ll see what I do on the jigs.

To your original question, yes they work. I bought a couple jars when Gander Mountain was closing last year. Good back up for when you run out of real ones.

Gulp Wax Worms will work great. In ponds anyway.
