Really be better off going somewhere else. Most luck from a boat has been fishing edges of the bushes 12-16. Fish are widely scattered and spawn is nearing completion.

Hello all you fine Mississippi folks.
Coming down to Sardis for the weekend, and was wondering with lake up high are the ramps open? Came down last year and hired one of the local guides, who put us on fish and made sure we had a wonderful time. Don't have the budget this year for a guide, so was wondering if anyone could share depth fish are in, and any patterns that are working. Bringing a cpl guys that work for me and deserve this trip for busting their butts for me all winter, good cpl a fellas. don't want to catch a lot of fish just want to catch some. Any advice sent my way would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

Was down at Sardis last weekend. We put in at Engineers point (no dock with high water to assist in launching the boat). We spider rigged 4-10 deep in 10-25 FOW. We caught 9 keepers and 9 shorts in 1 day. Got rained out the second day.

Thank you for your reply, was not what I was hoping to read lol. I already have a cabin booked at the park, however I know Grenada is not that far of a drive, do think we would be better making the drive there or is it the same condition. Any advice or recommendations to another lake would be great. Thank you
About the same condition....i was at Grenada last week.

All the reservoirs are at near record high levels. More water, more places for the fish to hide.

Haven't been but a couple times this year, but I have fished these lakes all my life, and, by far, from what I have seen and heard, this has been the toughest spring in recent memory. Can't even remember the level at Grenada being 223 this time of year, although it has happened before. I'll never forget one year, maybe early 80's, water was around 231 in April, and we caught the the stew out of them fishing from Greysport bridgWe had to park a mile away and walk, lol.

Tough fishing. I put a hand saw and limb snippers in my boat. Spawn aint over. 2-4 foot.
