The Mississippi is going back up to a 29 ft. crest around the 19 th.
The Corp closed the gates at 3 of the Big 4 this morning after yesterday's heavy rain. Looks like lake levels are going quite a bit higher over the next few days. This weather just not giving us a break this Spring.

Tell'em I'll be there.
The high water will pay off in the long run, they got no excuse not to have yet another stellar spawn, specially ole Butla gal she had a good one in 16'...
Yes Sir! Hope Butla will bounce back. We used to hammer 'em there before 2013. Haven't done much there in recent years.
Thank you very much for posting about the levels.
I guess I was right in cancelling my trip down there.
Hope to be able to see decent results in the fall.

2 INCHES IN 12 HRS. IS AN AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF . 2 INCHES IN 24 HRS. WILL CUT THEM BACK TO 5 FT. TOTAL ON ENID . CUTTING BACK ON TAKES WORD FROM VICKSBURG .
I have a question for you guys that fish the big four a lot, if you were passing through ms and had some crappie tackle with you, and could stop for half a day to enjoy a little fishing from the bank, which lake would you choose, Grenada, Enid, or Sardis.

I've never fished any of them from the bank, I would think any time other than spring you probably will not do much from the bank unless the spillway gates are open and you can fish in the spillway. I've seen guys fishing from the dam at Sardis and catching fish, fishing from the dam is a good way to get to some deeper water without a boat I guess. There is a little ledge on the Dam at Sardis that I always see guys fishing from, its probably under water right now though.

Bank fishing can be good at any of them during the spring when lake levels are normal or low. Keep in mind there reservoirs they raise and lower all year. Best luck is fishing creeks that feed the lakes they may be by roads or ramps or they may be a half a mile walk out to the creeks where they meet the lakes. Just depends on lake levels. Talked to a buddy today we compared the last 7 springs and they were all at different levels none the same during prime time. So it's hard to bank fish. It's hard to boat fish as well. With this years high water levels most folks are giving up. This week is prime time.
