No time soon is my guess, MS river is not forcasted to be below flood stage until April 1. By then the farmers in the delta will be getting ready to plant and they won't let enough water out of them to flood the Yazoo, Yalobusha, Yocona, Talahathie or Coldwater rivers. This is without any more rain and they are predicting 2 to 4 inches here this weekend.

A ranger told me that were going to get Arkabutla back in shape before they start on the other three.
Tell'em I'll be there.
Then it'll be a while!

Lake is gonna get a much needed rest this spring...good for the fish, bad for fishermen and bad for merchants.
Things are just different, there are still fish to be caught. Going to have to think outside the box.

Hope they have to hold it for at least another 6 or 8 weeks. I absolutely love the high water, so much uncharted territory to scout as well as the challenge finding a few. Plus I don't feel guilty keeping pre spawn fish knowing they will have a very good year to reproduce with the high water. Not so good for the tourism, but great for the locals who fish these lakes in my opinion.
I remember someone posting trolling crankbaits when the high water was on last year and he had 3-5’ line out trolling right up against the bush line catching nice crappies. Any guess who? I now do the same thing also in shallow water from learning from his postings.
