    Default Grenada lake

I saw some pictures of the spillway at Grenada today. The gates are closed but the river was high enough to start flooding the campground. That means the lake will rise 10 feet next week and be as high as it has been in years. They will open the gates when the river goes down and they will try to drop the lake to catch the next rain.

Where in the world do you get a 10 feet rise in the main lake? With it at the level it is now it will only rise around a foot per inch of rain and that is if it is all the way around the lake. Your prediction is 218 by next week with the rain we have had and I doubt very seriously it will hit that even with the predicted rains between now and Sunday.
5 inches of rain up Turkey Creek, Bruce had close to the same and from what I hear Calhoun City not quite that much. 213 is a safe bet and add another foot for each inch to inch and a half we get this weekend.
She is spread out now, gonna take more rain now to get a foot of rise.
One good thing is we will be able to use Scuna/Turkey boat landing this year, never got to last year.

Campground was closed last year because of flooding.
Dredge out the silt in all the lakes and haul it away so they can carry the water they use too. Carry it back up stream for the farmers.
We talk about recycling, this would be miner project, if the COE had ears.

The higher the lake gets, the more rain it takes to raise the level because of the way it spreads out during high water. This is what Grenada needs for a great spawn. It spreads out the fish and puts them in the bushes. During years of low-water spring time levels, the fish get pounded. I know it is fun when that happens but higher water levels promote great fishing for the future.

These lakes are for flood control, not silt collectors. Haul it away.

It is up 1.97 from yesterday. On 210 now. I did forget that the larger the surface area the slower it will rise. You probably are right.

All the lakes are full of silt. They won't hold the amount of water they were designed for.
