I agree Pops. The last two weeks the lake went from 243 to 244.50, we need rain. And not just a shower or two.
Just for information, the COE Rule Curve shows that Sardis is supposed to start rising .3' daily on Monday 3/18. That projects to a 5' rise by the end of March (248'), which would be almost exactly where it was at that time last year.
The COE might be able to get .3' daily by shutting the spillway to a trickle, but we need rain to jump start the rise to summer pool (260' by May 1).
All the long range weather looks like a dry spring, I hope they are wrong.

Just shutting the gates down to 0 would not get us there. We need a few inches of rain and in a hurry. Last year on March 25 I was fishing out at Sardis and I believe you are correct pops the lake was at 248.25
It came up about 4" while we were there fishing yesterday. But they shut the gates yesterday. Or that is what I was told.
Fish were in 2 to 5 ft of water. But bet with the cold front. There going to move back out.
The fish we caught averaged over a lb each.
I sure hope it comes up. The brush piles we put out are still high and dry. Need about 4 ft. of water by the 30th of March. I looked at 10 day forecast and it says almost zero rain.
Seen a few Stake beds out of water Thursday. And hope to see what they look like again Tuesday.

Well it is only up to 244.6 today
Sounds like it may be slow filling up then. Without a big rain.

Keep us posted. Thanks!!!
When do you think the crappie spawn will begin at Sardis this year. I'm thinking first week of April but was talking with an old timer this weekend who lives there. He said that some of the locals who fish all the time think it will begin this week. I hope not since I don't have any vacation scheduled till April.
