    Default Lake Lee

Does anyone fish Lake Lee? I heard they were catching some last spring but I never made it over.

Lots of nice fish there. You gotta wade through the gar and carp though. I fished it at the CM Natl. Championship a few years back. We caught some good ones, but had our spot invaded by some out of staters when they saw us catching fish.

Out of stater's,in stater's,any other fisherman crowding you while you are fishing is just plain wrong...With half a spine they would find their own place to fish....

If you think you won't be crowded when you are on fish in a National Championship tourney you live in a fairy tail world, you get crowded any other time.
I like to find own but if there are 10 boats in a 100 yard square I may head that way if I'm struggling.

    So Rees,
You are saying what happened to BRM at Lee was the norm and expected?...Pretty sad if that is true.

I would say yes, we are fishing public water, period. To think you have a spot all to yourself, especially on tourney day, well, you are just fooling yourself. 2 day tourneys are really bad and it's just the nature of the beast. Like I said earlier, it happens other day, why would you think it to be different on tourney day. I'm not gonna bump boats with someone or get tangled up in their lines but there are plenty out there that will.

And it don't matter how big the lake is! Someone will find you and fish right next to you, don't matter if you're catching fish or not!

The oxbows make it pretty tough to get away and have an area to yourself. There just not wide enough and most folks are going to follow the same contours around the lake. I don't have much trouble on the big lakes in the tournaments. You know going into it where the community holes are.

To answer the question before the post gets hijacked, lake lee is just as good as any lake up and down the ms river. When the river was rising 3 years ago that's the only lake I could catch a good fish on.

Thx for bailing me out there. BD brought me bait 5 minutes before the tourney started because my oxygen quit and all my bait was dead. First class guy to go back to the bait shop for ya with 20-30 minutes before a tourney starts, and the Natl. Championship to boot.
