Erin, like Ress said don't make the mistake I did. I let him talk me in to fishing with him using them poles. I now own a set. I'm a died in the wool southern crappie rod guy but them Denali' are best pole I have ever had in my hand.

Spider rigging. Good tip with lite weights all the way up to 3ozs of lead, good backbone and in the waves they really shine, pole bounce is more managable. I like the mount for the reel better too, titens down from the front instead of the back, you won't loosen it when handling the rod.

I used them with 3 ozs a good bit this past spring pushing minners fishing 16 foot deep at 1 mph. 2ozs real good, don't get me wrong now, they bent over some but nothing severe. Caught a BUNCH of fish this spring with at least 2ozs of weight on my poles.

Along with what Ree's said, with the light weights they are super sensitive to have as much back bone as they do. Along with the front mount reel clamp they have much longer fore grip I really like if you reach and grab your rod in front of reel.
