    Default Crappie Jinx Continues

Decided that the Rez would be calm and receptive to my efforts this morning, so I ventured out at 6:00 AM... Got boat launched on water that was just about dead slick, and took off to the honey hole... On the way, the screws holding the Helix backed out and suddenly I was holding it.... NOT GOOD... But, I continued on to what was sure to be the best day I have spent on the water in a long time!
Eased up to the spot, dropped the trolling motor in quietly, and let the jigs down to do their magic...
I could just about taste the filets, and then... The Helix shut down, and the trolling motor lost power...
I drifted along with the wind, silently steaming, and realizing that nothing was going to save this trip...
Ran her back to the landing, loaded on the trailer, and headed to the house... Seemed like a good day to do some boat maintenance!

Yep, that's when I head for Waffle House and call it a day.
