Up to number 5.. # 6 flooped out the boat while I turned to get another pole. We got a bit of rain here about 20 minutes ago. Fish was on fire for 10 minutes or so before it hit. Now done died off, fish so frisky can't open the livewell without them trying to jump out. Wind picking up now, won't let me stay on the fish.

Moon have been blessed with the asian carp so things are evolving quickly on that lake... Sadly...

Hate to hear it, those oxbow lakes are natural beauties for sure. What worries me, if the oxbows can't handle the carp invasion with all the structure they have in them (trees, vegetation, docks, piers etc.) than the big 4 don't stand a chance. Hope I'm wrong, but I think they are already in some of the flood lakes. I think the law of not catching bait down river and putting them on ice before transport to the main lake came several years too late. Again, I prey I'm wrong

I wish you were!! AC will eventually ruin all our good fishing lakes. Any eradication projects can only make a dent in the population. If they would only approve the use of the Virus. They are using it in Australia.

The majority of the Gar are Needle Nose, Aligator Gar are protected in some places; They forage on the fry Carp, but the Carp grow so quickly that by their first year they are too big for Gar. This past winter, the Chinamen were able to pull about 20K#'s or so out of Moon, but since the accident (drowning), that has stopped. The Virus is the only thing that's out there. Pulling nets is a lot of hard work for a little money!

I have a question about the virus. Not necessarily about the virus in particular, but....If they put something in the water to kill the carp only (which I hate carp and want them eradicted) would they have a massive die off? If so, is it possible that there are soooo many carp in one area that the decomposition of the dead carp zap the oxygen similar to killing vegetation at a high rate in one area? In turn killing everything else? Just wondering......
