Default SLOW BITE In North Mississippi

High of 88 and no wind in North Mississippi may have contributed to the slow bite here.

I did manage to catch 12, but the 12" limit kept my take home down to only 6.

But even 6 crappie this size is a good day in my opinion.

I did notice that all of my 15" fish were males and the only females with eggs were LESS THAN 12"

The larger females have already spawned. Yesterday was a bad day, but you pulled it out, congrats!

Caught 4 yesterday, 1 slimer, 1 throwback, 2 keepers. One was a female still loaded with eggs, she was 14 1/2". Does anyone know why it's so tough right now?

Sounds like y'all are in that same funky period we went through during the get together on Barnett. First big wave is spawned out and the next hasn't yet moved up. We were catching fish in ten foot of water that were dropping eggs.

I had a couple 16" females yesterday that were full and tight with eggs.

Caught some in 8 and some in 4 foot of water today. About half males and half females. All spawners. Bite was slow but when one hit he hit!
