How deep are the baits in how deep of water?
I know it's sort of an odd request for this board, but Wifey wants to float some noodles for channel cats in the rez this weekend. So far we haven't had much success catching them on noodles and I'm open to suggestions as where to put them out, depth, and bait ( other than shad which I can't catch). I tried the flats out from 4 trees last year with big minnows , worms, and shrimp but didn't do very good. I know all you crappie guys hate slimers so we want to clear a few of them out for you. Any help greatly appreciated....Thanks, Fred

I set them about 3 ft. deep in 4 to 5 ft. flats. Caught a few on the shrimp but not many
man, MInners seem to work pretty good cause I always catch a few spider rigging lol

I catch em about a foot off the bottom on my dead minnows...
They maybe deeper. Use the same baits but in deeper water.
My jugs are 24 oz drink bottles with adjustable spools, can have up to 3 hooks per jug but mostly 2. I bait with minners targeting crappie but catch other fish too.
I plan to be there next weekend, I'll save you all I catch. I'll try to remember to bring my jugs.
I use either chicken or beef blood bait when targeting channels. If you want to go after flatheads I prefer small LIVE bluegills....
Skip Jack heads for blues.
Don't especially care for the blues. Targeting the eating size channel cats. I'm thinking about trying live crawfish on them this weekend. Should I be fishing the flats or deeper water?
from my personal experiences, it seems that Barnett catfish like pink jigs
