Default Got to check on the bream size at lake Lamar Bruce today!

My son had to work today so I got a few crickets and had my wife carry me to Lamar Bruce late this afternoon to try the bream off the bank. Last time I tried them was last spring. Size is better this year!

Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

Nice catch!! I guess theyll begin to move in more and more in the coming weeks to feed up before the spawn..how deep were these, and was it an aggressive bite?

I caught lots of small fish shallow. I put on heavy lead so I could reach the middle of the cove toward the main lake and that was where the keepers were. Didn't find them till about a hour before dark. Tight lining crickets. If I remember right that area showed to be 12 to 15 ft deep when we fished from the boat last year.
