footballcoach.. I really have heard from the guy that does my service work, and he's highly respected in the marine mechanics world, that it doesn't hurt to burn ethanol gas through your motor if you use a bunch of gas...but if you only burn a tank or two a year.. then NO. He said its the sitting up than causes the problem faster with ethanol.
I personally put only nonethanol in my boat just because it makes me feel better

Dee F.. I agree with you if and its a big if u run a lot of gas through your motor. Most I know don't. Ethanol is not good on two cycle engines. This comes from several certified outboard mechanics who are also well respected. I know a small engine mechanic who works on mowers weed eaters and such says he loves ethanol. Keeps him in business. Try something. Put some enathol gas in a quart jar and set it on the shelf in your garage. In 3 months go and look at it and you will really feel better about burning 100% gasoline

If you do run ethanol.....buy it from the highest volume, cheapest dealer you can find.. It will be fresher..run it out quickly.

Agree with all that....run it out as soon as you can. That's why I went to a SIX gallon tank in my boat. Yep...SIX. I fill it more often but I don't put 15 gallons in it and let it sit and get nasty between trips. I don't fish THAT much and I just feel better about a smaller tank. I do use an additive that my guru motor mechanic of 62 years highly recommends. I also put the ears on the boat about once a week between trips and run it for 10-12 minutes at various rpms.

Heck with sponsors, they should be paying to fish their tournaments in MS, I don't get how the county and tourism board has to pay to get them to come hold a tournament. We have enough interest in our lakes without having to buy it.. good thing I don't work in local government I reckon
