    Default crazy weekend

went sat and sunday up at eagle, 30mph wind, caught fish for 4 hrs till i had to turn my bilge pump on from all the waves coming in the boad. was dragging a 30 lbs kettle bell behind me and still moving .6 had to drift into the wind which meant trolling motor on three or four and get wet with every wave. managed a near limit in 18 fow, 12 foot deep, wind nw 25 sustained 35 gusts. sunday head to same place hookup boat after about a mile trailer comes lose, broke my trolling motor prop and tore up my tailgate and bumper. dont know what happened tongue was locked down and the safety pin was in. after about an hr of wrestling the thing back on the ball i used the trailer jack and ran it up till the truck started coming up...yep its locked. had a spare trolling motor prop so fixed that and went on fishing. wind had shifted to straight out of the east at about 15-20 not as bad as sat. caught five in 5 hrs in the same area. ive never been so happy to see my house than i was last night. gonna be sore in morning.

Sounds like it wasn't seated on the ball. It COULD have been alot worse though

Sounds nightmarish. If you went fishing I guess you didn't wreck your boat. As DD said could have been lot worse. You live in Vicksburg?

I had it come off as I was pulling out of my driveway one morning. Since then, before I flip the little lever forward, I reach under and make sure that little part that goes under the ball to hold it on is not on top of the ball.

yea i was only going about 10mph leaving chotard landing. i got lucky on my boat only broke the tm prop. trailer tongue tore up my tail gait but not bad biggest issue is it hit my bumper right where the back up sensors are so every time i put truck in reverse it screams at me. i live in the big city of bassfield, ms

Sounds like if you and I ever fished together, we would lose the boat and truck in the lake and have to walk back home, uphill, in the snow!
