I had the lake all to myself crappie fishing with one bass fisherman putting in later this morning. Well fall has started late this year with all the record breaking heat temperatures we have been having and the crappie fishing has been tough also. Maybe things are fixing to change as I went fishing this morning and caught a few. Started out a 7:15 am this morning 62° and fished till 11:15 am the temperature was up in the 80°s by then. Crappie caught were mid size as the big slabs were hiding from me as usual. Crappie were in 17' water about half way down. Tried artificial for a while but as usual they liked the minnows best. Caught 29 to be dunked in cornmeal and hot grease at a later date. Cold front and rain to move in tonight maybe they will start a feeding frenzy to fatten up for the winter soon. Barometer has been falling today also as it may have helped the bite also. There must be a lot of crappie tournaments going on or something here in Mississippi as there has not been hardly any fishing reports being shared lately on the Mississippi forum. Looking forward to seeing everyone's fall and winter fishing reports and pictures.
