    Default Grenada 9-3

Caught 9 keepers, 4-5 right at 12",didn't take a chance on, and 8-9 shorts today. When the batteries gave up, I cranked the outboard, but it would only idle down to 3.1mph. What the hell I will just try it back to the landing. Caught 2 keepers,4 shorts and a few stripes. I guess crappie can swim pretty fast.

The crowd should be less with dove season open. Good weather today as well!

Get two five gallon buckets with 8'-10' rope. hang one off each side of the boat. Should create enough drag to get you in the ideal speed range.

Just don't make the rope long enough to reach the prop. Sounds like a no Brainer but have seen buckets, sea anchors in the prop before and always at the worst time and location.

I use 2 18" drift socks to slow my roll when using the big motor. Works like a charm. 18"ers are cheap too. I use the el cheapo plastic ones in the summer. Caught em on sale at Academy for 8 bucks each. They store in the boat much better than a bucket.

I also use these when I want to move a faster with the wind when I push minners. They slow ya down, but not to a crawl. I have a pair of 36"ers to do the same thing when the wind is heavier. Bought those for the same price.

Good advice downsouth. I've caught a sock in the prop before. Short rope is more fun that getting a long one off of the prop. Grenada 9-3Grenada 9-3Grenada 9-3Grenada 9-3

You can't poop in a drift sock, bill. Buckets are free if you know where to get them and have many uses.Grenada 9-3
