My wife and I just returned from a visit to Arkabutla. We were celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary and decided to take a fun road trip south just to get away and try trolling a few cranks. We stayed in Hernando Friday through Sunday and had a great trip! The fishing wasn't great, but we did manage to catch a few quality slabs. Our trip didn't just involve fishing, we visited several establishments and restaurants in town at a leisurely pace and enjoyed not having any agenda. After dinner one evening we decided to go for a walk around the town square. As we were walking, I happened to see a guy fueling up his boat at a small filling station and noticed he had pulling racks mounted. I couldn't resist the urge to go over and ask how his fishing had been. The gentlemen was super nice and talked with my wife and I for several minutes about the lake and crankbaiting techniques. As we concluded the conversation, the gentleman mentioned he was a member of Crappie.Com and shared his screen name, foxtrot68. What a small world we live in! It was great running into someone who is as passionate about crappie fishing as I am. I really appreciated Joe taking a few minutes out of his day to talk to a total stranger about crappie fishing. Wouldn't expected nothing less with the Southern Hospitality that is so prevelant in your area. We enjoyed the fishing and had a great weekend! Took in some good restaurants and of course my wife had to visit the Outlet Mall, Lol. Just wanted to share our experience and say thanks to Joe! This is one of the reasons I became a member of Crappie.Com many years ago. I certainly hope to make another trip soon back to the Magnolia State soon.Name: Butla 2016.jpg
