I tried pushing with the same method last year for a tad,, I had the same results,,,, speed and depth must be real touchy wit them cranks,,,
Went this afternoon to practice pulling and pushing crank baitS. I used a 3 ounce weight and pushed two and pulled 4. I tried various depths and speeds and so far the Crappie have nothing to fear from me. The catfish on the other hand might want to be nervous

I have found......it's hard to get a bite if you're not putting the bait in front of the fish. Most of us would rather blame the fish rather than ourselves.
