Some of yall crack me up. Funny how the ones that are upset that I'm not telling what lake are all out of staters. Several people on this forum fish the lake I'm referring to and I'm sure they are having the same success. There is a reason why this lake has turned hot the last couple years and there is also a reason why a lot of the "known" other lakes are not so hot this year. Both have to do with "pressure" and I'm not talking about on the barometer.

Back before Al Gore invented the internet, most everything fishing wise was word of mouth. Guy had to develop relationships with people to get reliable information about conditions or just go fishing. As an out of stater myself, I try to gather info here to determine where and when to come down as it is expensive to make the 5-6 hour trip down. The internet has been a help and a curse. Everyone I have talked to on this forum and in the state of Mississippi have been friendly and helpful (except the one guy at Lakeway who told me to go home!). Posts like Golden Minnows never took place before the internet. May have been shared with some good friends, but that would be it, so I get that. The ONLY thing I have a small issue with, and its really prolly just personal, is why post at all if ya don't want any details in the report. Knowing the lake couldn't hurt it that much unless it is really small. I would have said nothing at all about it on this site, but to each there own!

There was plenty of good info in the report. "caught on jigs in 8 ft of water", "full of eggs", and "most action I have ever had in 12 years of crappie fishing. Brought 30 home and threw back twice that many". And then hey, with a little encouragement, we even got pictures. Thank you GM for the report. It is very much appreciated.

C'mon guys, this is a nice site here, no need to take the negative route. If you don't like what's posted just ignore it, no need to drag down others. And I'm saying this in general, not targeting anyone. Now go out and catch some fish and post some pictures, and don't tell us where, just tell us a little about how you did it. That's all we ask. We're all fishermen here, and we love to fish, and we love to get along with other fishermen that enjoy our sport.

To each his own. Glad to see that you caught some fish! The best time to go fishing is always right now. I'm convinced that they eat every day on every lake. On of my favorite things about Barnett is it seems no matter how good the reports are, you gewbers up north still don't want to fish it . Mississippi has plenty of strong fisheries outside of the big four, several small state lakes are putting out some nice fish right now from what I hear, but I have to agree with Slab. If the word got out, those little lakes would be overrun pretty quickly.
