    Default THE RIVER STAGE

Page shows the gates still open on Sardis, Enid, and Grenada,. I would have thought they would close em by now what with all of the water that is downstream. I'm hoping Grenada has 211 by the first week of April. Water hopefully will be settled if we don't get another huge rain and spawn should be good.

COE has not been doing a very good job of reporting lake levels and spillway flows recently. I called Vicksburg last week and was told that the person who posts the reports was "out with a sick relative". Based on the amount of rainfall, all spillways should be shut off before the day ends.

If 'butla keeps rising like it is now, it's gonna be over the spillway soon....and still raining hard east of here with more coming down the Coldwater River!

Not shut down at Nader yet but they have only had 1.35 inches of rain in the last 24 hours, sure they will shut it off pretty quick. On a slight rise now and will pick up pretty quick, we have only had 2.25 inches of rain at the house here above Turkey Creek since Tuesday night.

I don't have a gage but from the radar it looks like we got about 1.75 inches at Graysport so far. After this is over, I hope they don't pull the bottom out of it in order to get back to rule curve.

They won't send any out of Butla for awhile if I had to guess.. that would flood out a lot of folks south of us, many more days of storms like we had to today and it will start going over the wall at the emergency spillway before long.

Man, I hate to hear how bad it is for some of our other southern brethren.. there down there evacuating due to the floods and saw 3 have died so far .. my prayers go out to them!
