This is a story worth reading.
God Bless your new venture.
Been getting my stuff together to get this crappie/panfish guiding deal started up. My wife was lukewarm in the beginning since she has tolerated my fishing for the 40+ years of our marriage including a trip to the BASS Federation Nationals in 1980 when she was about to bust pregnant and it was 150 degrees in OK at Grand Lake. My waterfowl guiding has worn me out and I need to change a bunch of my priorities in life. When I mentioned selling ALL my hunting and snow goose/duck guiding gear including my Ranger 6X6, she had heard it all before. This time is different.
We sat down to eat supper a couple nights ago and she turned to me and said "You face me to hear what I have to say." OH CRAP--I don't like the sound of this!!! She said she wanted me to know this is something she has been praying for for years and she thought GOD had a hand in this. She also said she is 100% behind me in anything (within budget) I need to buy to make this thing happen. We had been talking new boats and she had seen all the pluses and minuses of all the brands I had looked at. She said let's do it as long as you will still take me pulling cranks every chance we get. Tough decision but I think we can work it out.
Bill and I had been counting beans and options for a few days and I had made my mind up he had the boat, engine and deal I needed to get started. Yesterday I ordered a 2016 Excel Bay Pro 203 with a 140 Suzuki from Big River Marine. I'm keeping all my electronics and Terrova off my current rig as well as my HiTek holders and a few other items.
Professional Bay Boat Series by Excel Boats
Had a guy call me last night and said he was ready to write me a check for my absolute low-dollar price without my gear on my current rig. Now I have to decide what that figure is and may be without a boat for a month or so. That should give me time to sell off the rest of my hunting gear so I can put every penny of it into the new Excel.
Vicki and I are pretty excited. You guys have no idea how good it feels to have 100% support from family and friends for this new venture. It will let me spend much more time in my taxidermy studio and let me sleep in my own bed most every night.
I'm not the most religious person around and I know I will have a lot of things to answer to when I enter the Pearly Gates. I also feel this is something that the Lord has had a HUGE hand in. Now it will be up to Vicki and me to make it successful.
Wish us luck!
Thanks, Bill.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
