Need some advice please.
i do most of my crappie fishing out of a 1542 Express. It's a blast and cast type boat. I like to single pole when I can but I'm set to to spider rig or pull cranks.
Right now my rods are just kind of piled up on one side of the boat and they get tangled, not to mention te scuffing of them sitting on aluminum.
My boat has the t-channel rail on the gunnel and I have some flat adapters. I've been looking at the Driftmaster tip saver but can't decide if the center or offset version would be better. I think a vertical rack would be best but I'm worried about it getting in the way while single pole fishing.
Advice?

go to c.com mechanics corner under boat rigging and you can see pics of my installation. Had same issue as you. This solved my problem and I love the tip savers. I ordered mine on line from monkscrappie.com.
Check with gene, ez pole holder, on here from MS and creek slick from AR. Personally don't have any racks yet but on my list. Have seen a lot of these guys work and lots of great comments on their products. I bought some seats from gene, he is top notch, and heard same about creek slick. Both them have threads in member classifieds.
Thank healthnspector. From your pics it looks like the 4" centered version would end up in the same place on my boat. You got me thinking about the mounts, I've never liked those starmount things. I thing I'll get the flat base plates and drill through the t-channel bracket to allow too and bottom securing of the tip saver.
monks price seems really low to me. Did you order butt and tip sections separately?
Creekslick on the AR board makes a storage rack that mounts in the lock track of your boat. Send either him or me a PM about them.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
That's just not fair....thought I was set. NOT NOW...I guess I need to do a third mortgage and check into rod holders. Dang, this crappie fishin got a whole lot more expensive since PapPaw started me on this journey 55 yeas ago.....ughhhh!

Creekslick has a good rack and will build what u need!
Love my Creek Rod racks, had the tip savers first, didn't care for them much had one of my rods fall out going down the interstate. With Creeks racks I replaced the bolts with knobs, so it's easy to just remove the front one when fishing and put it back when it's time to go.
