Thank you cray. I am in the process of slowly getting things together. The trolling poles I have, don't have reels on them, so I have robbed all my other rods of their reels. The poles don't even have reel seats, so I am going to have to buy some hose clamps and rig them up. The poles have line wraps on them which are very time consuming setting out and taking up, not to mention, losing a fish every once in a while trying to wrap the line. and get it to net. This week I will buy the clamps and rig everything so hopefully (fingers crossed) I can get on the water sometime next week and try and catch some much needed fish. Again I thank you for the info.

Thank you spindle. How long do you make your rigs?

Get you some plastic wire ties. Put one one on each end of reel then wrap entire reel seat with electrical tape pulling it tight as you wrap. Never come off.

Stone Creek, go to B&M web site pull up their catalog and look for the Capps&Coleman Riggs. If I'm not mistake they list the lengths of each dropper based on sinker weight. Can use that as a starting point.

Stone Creek, go to a hardware store and get a roll of heat tape. You'll find it in the electrical section, it looks like adhesive tape, it doesn't get sticky like other tapes and is strong. I have a couple of reels taped on the rods for some 20 or more years.
You have a couple of off days here so come on over and I'll show you some rigs.

Cray, what is the advantage to hooking the minnow through the eyes instead of through the lips?? I learned to hook them through the lips but I know many people use each method. I was just wondering.
Thanks dad for teaching me to love crappie fishing!!
