It's not the creel limit or the MLL. It's not taking longer to catch a lesser limit. It's the fact they lowered the pole limit without the proper notification or biological backing. Remember THEIR recommendation was 10" MLL, 15 creel limit, 5 poles. Again, it's the screwing we took over OUR resource by the people WE hired to oversee it.
10" would have been dead wrong. The pole limit and the creel limit is dead on. The 7 limit transport is a crying shame. I see your point and understand what your saying. Something has to be done. I would rather them change a little now than keep things unchanged and in a few years from now Sardis turns over the other way. I just don't see any fish catching difference with 3 rods vs 5. You will still limit out with no problem that was my question for the post. I know it's 5 fewer fish. If the limit was 50 people could get 50. I was just curious.
ATM, you keep bringing this up over and over. The facts are, that the Commission of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is authorized by the Mississippi Code of 1972 to make decisions regarding the protection of our resources. These folks are not "hired" by us and the Code says absolutely nothing about requiring MDWFP to get general public approval prior to making, or changing, these decisions. It would be nice if everything went my ( or your) way, but it just don't work like that. I think the Commission is doing a great job in making North Mississippi the crappie capital of the U.S.
Uh oh here we go
If you have someone with u 6 poles is enough for anyone but I can see where people may not like 3 if they are by their self. All I fish is grenada with 3 poles so I usually get someone to tag along
Pops, you would have freaked out today with what I saw while fishing Pickwick, my son and me were fishing with 3 poles each (which is about all I can really fish and keep an eye on) and we were passing buy a fellow in the boat by himself and he was in the middle of the boat and I counted 8 yep I said 8 poles in rod holders with line out the back and he had one in his hand that he was reeling in. I looked at my son and told him that I didn't have any idea how he could possibly be able to watch all those poles LOL thing is it didn't matter one bit to me at all. I like single pole fishing at times, I like casting also but I don't do it as much as I do trolling with MORE THAN ONE POLE but its my choice to do it that way. thing is that how ever a man wants to fish shouldn't be a bearing on how I fish and it aint !!!! Im gonna enjoy my fishing trip and aint worried bout what someone else is doing to catch fish. I fish to relax and not sit and count how many poles are in a boat but when I saw this coming up towards us, well it caught my eye for sure
