I don't know about the paint pole but I, and many others on here, use the EGO Reach. It extends to about 14', and has a rubber net.

That's what you want....the EGO extendable. Little price but you'll just have to buy one of them...they last forever.

The rubber Ego is a great net if you normally fish for smaller fish (under 2#'s) by yourself. The bigger fish can jump back out of without any problem. If you catch the bigger fish then you need to step up to the Crappiemasters net. It extends out to 13'8" end to end but it's a two person net because it is heavy but they won't jump back out of it.

Ego is what I use, I fish by myself sometimes and it's easier to use one handed

I'm making one from a paint pole that goes from 6-12'. I bought an $8 net for the hoop, and should be getting my new rubber replacement net ($20 shipped) from Tackle Warehouse any day.
