I know most of the locals know, but many visitors don't know that the great crappie kingdom used to have many, many residential and commercial dwellings back in the day. Two old highways with numerous concrete bridge pilings and railings, not to mention the many concrete structures like this one are scattered all over. This one is personal with me, as my motor's skeg was amputated by the top of this beast running about 45 or so. It's on a hump out from Carver Point. That's the Choctaw point in the background. Bottom line, this can be a dangerous lake when it comes to wind, stumps, asphalt, and concrete. Like any body of water, good judgement can help overcome the wind problem for the most part........it's the hidden destroyers that you can't see that will getcha sometimes.

Well, not sure. At 207, I'm guessing not that deep......that a fairly good rise where that's at. Normally, I'd have recorded it in my journal, but that was during a CUSA tournament, and didn't wanna remember much from that day.

I put the cords in my Navionics and showed it to be in about 7 foot of water now, was just curious if that sounded about rite.

Looking at the top edge of it, you can see many battle scars from lower units other than mine. This is just one of MANY wreckers. Heck, the Redgrass Creek bridge railings alone on Old 8 offers a huge mass of concrete killers in a pretty wide target. Then there's the Buttputter Bridge, Dry Branch bridge, etc..........that's just the beginning....on the Yalobusha side.........

If you know the date of that tourney, the Corp keeps a record for you. Our tax dollars at work.
