I have no way of gauging that so I'll trust your opinion. Must be a few because people stay lined up to fish on the outflow.

Would dare say that more go out the spillway than get caught in the lake.

I just read a thread on the Iowa size limit thread by Martin Mountain where he was talking about the numbers of big fish caught on the outflow. I can see how fish would pass over the spillway with no problem but it seems treachorous for a fish to get through that drainage passage without being injured. I guess it happens as I've seen no dead fish there.

The MDWFP hatchery keeps plenty of fry for stocking all 4 lakes. I think it's located not far from Enid. That should minimize the effects of "runts" spawning only small fish.

The hatchery is between the Interstate and the dam at the Enid exit, pretty cool place. Have been to several gathering up there but dont recall them saying anything about putting crappie fry in any of the big four. Cool place for sure.

Because thats when they want to come. I try to book them in the fall, I think that is about as good of fishing and weather as you can get.
The out of state folks are locked in to spring spawn, and there is no way you can talk them out of it. Hope that answere's your question.

then the problem lies with the client not the COEs plain and simple.

None of the fish from the Enid hatchery go to the COE lakes. They do some bass for state lakes, and special projects, like raising some gar that are almost extinct in some S. MS rivers. (for real!)

Don't blame em...deer hunters same way...always want to hunt the peak of the rut when the pre-rut time is best.

But Kenny is it your fault when they demand a certain time and it dont pan out? I dont think so, would say it lies entirely on their shoulders.
Went on a bass fishing trip once with a friend, when we got there the guide says be at my boat slip at 4 am, we gonna fish till 12. It was unusually hot and it was a full moon setting about 8am. He knew what he was talking about, his lake not ours why would we not listen to him.
Guarantee I could carry folks from June till Sept and have good days summer feshing and there aint much to me.
I havent feshed much at all this Spring compared to past years because I know summertime is coming. The low water had alot to do with it as well, where I found fesh I was having to fish in a croud and it just werent worth the headaches that sometimes goes along with the croud.
