    Default This boat

We got out early yesterday on Enid. Son, daughter-in-law and I. It got time for the daughter-in-law to head up the hill. I turn the key and not a sound. What am I looking for? The motor will go up and down. But where to start on repairs?

Neutral safety switch would allow tilt/trim without turning over motor.

If you have a test light or voltmeter start checking at the main battery.Make sure all the connections are clean and tight. There may be fuses/circuit breakers, make sure power is getting across them.Remove the engine cover,do you hear a"click" at the starter solenoid when you attempt to start it?if so the primary circuit is good.If not and the key switch is located in the dash, look at the back of it to see if any wires may have pulled loose.there may be fuses under the dash to inspect. If the key is in the control box, check as much of the wiring to it as you can get to for damage.Hold the key to the start position and rock the shifter back and forth just a little.maybe the neutral switch is out of adjustment or gummed up a bit.If the solenoid clicks then check for voltage at the starter motor.voltage at the starter would mean starter trouble.a click and no voltage would mean solenoid trouble, if the all connections are good.

I had a dirt dobber build a nest on the fuse panel. Fuse was blown. It must of heated up and lost connection.
