    Default Early Spring MS trip

My wife and I plan to travel through MS in late Feb. or early March and wondered about crappie fishing either Arkabutla, Enid, Sardis, or Grenada. We have never fished in your state and didn't know if these lakes were too low to fish at that time of year since they were flood control lakes.

Grenada is the farthest south of the four I mentioned or do you mean a different lake even farther south? If so, which ones? Thanks.

Grenada has to have some work done on the dam, if they dont get it done they will keep letting it back out so they can finish their work. I dont exspect Grenada to hold alot of water this spring for this reason, maybe completely off base here but it is something to watch. Also there are great oxbow lakes that yield a good many crappie early in the year. Wish yall well.

I know that right now Grenada is real low and hard to put a boat in, most ramps don't even reach the water. All this too will have to do also on how much rain we get between now and when you plan your trip.

Where do you plan on staying? Are you bringing a boat? Elbow creek at Arkabutla is good this time of year.

You need to go to Ross Barnett, the water level is not low there.

Lake Washington is where you want to go that time of year. You won't be disappointed. Do a search for lodging as it can sometimes be hard to find a place. Good luck and enjoy the hospitality that the great people of Mississippi will extend to you.
