Wannabe...
Glad to see a new member, I haven't been on here that long and these guys have helped me a bunch.
I'm sure you will find a boat to get in.
If you can make their fall camp at Enid you should go. A big get together and fish fry if I understand it right and you can learn a lot.
I'm in AR but have a place down at Enid and we come fishing a good bit.
It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Welcome to MS!! I ain't gonna be here but about a week longer and then gone to Wyoming, but I fish the tenn-tom between aberdeen and columbus. Good fishin there! On Columbus lake, find the gravel pits on the east side just north of the marina. Also tibbee creek on the west side is really good. On the north end of the lake, look for the first old river run on the east above the bartahatchie river, called duck blind run by some. There is a 90 degree elbow with 20 fow that holds a lot of fish in the heat of summer and cold of winter. Great place to spider rig and night stalk. Just above that on the westbank is another good old river run (denmon creek cuttoff). And just above that are two more good ones on the east bank. One is called "caney creek cuttoff" and the other is "mckinley creek cuttoff". Also, trolling the banks of the main river canal can be very productive. You can even slow it down and jig the tree tops you find in 10-20fow and do pretty good. Plenty of fishin opportunity for ya! Hope this helps and good luck! Oh yeah, you probably know this, but, if you leave the main river canal in the columbus lake, make sure you know where your goin! Lots of VERY shallow water there. Stumps and logs too! Learn the lake depths first before running at high speed. If you see a boat running fast over a shallow flat, don't think you can do it too. There are some folks who know where a narrow ditch runs and if you get of track just a few feet your in trouble! Check everything at idle or trolling first!

Will fish for food!
Old Rook. I will help you out if I can. Let me know what your schedule looks like and maybe first we can just take a ride around the lake and I will show you the areas that hold fish and also point out some really dangerous shallow water areas for newcomers.
I'd jump on that Rook.
