At one time there was a great lunch spot my family and I would eat at when we would travel down south. It was called the round table or something like that. Big lazy susan table piled with homecooked food. Someone on here will confirm... South of Jackson about an hour or so from what I recall...

410, if you come close to grenada, wb will expect you to treat him to lunch............:D what part of ms will you go through?? there are some good restaurants in greenwood, as well as grenada.
Foxtrot68 .et .al,
The place was called The Whitehouse.
I used to eat there too. It was a great and unique dining experience, but I believe The Whitehouse, just like Elvis, has moved on into history...
Here's a good stop for ya - Greenwood...you can book a room at the Alluvian and treat your wife to a day at the spa then dinner at Lusco's in Greenwood or Doe's Eat Place in Greenville or the Alluvian.
Wannabe...
Wannabe...v2.0
A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Vicksburg on The MIssissippi River is hard to beat. Casino's, old houses, old antique stores, Stay at the Cedar Grove Mansion. If you are in Greenwood make sure you hit the Crystal Restaurant. She would love you even more if you took her thru Natchez. If on the coast stay at the Beau Rivage. If you come thru Jackson eat at Shapley's or Char. Stay at the new OLD KING EDWARD HOTEL downtown. There's a neat Blues Place near there called underground 119 or if you stay up late the latenight hot spot is Frank Jones Corner in downtown. They are open until 4am with live music. If still around for lunch hit 2 Sisters downtown. If you were cool as I am, you would pull into Jackson, check it out for a day. Leave your car at the hotel after you spend the night at the King Edward. Walk across the street the next morning at 11am and jump on Amtrak to New Orleans. Once there, hop a cab to any place you like in the cityand spend the night in new Orleans, and if budget isn't a big deal, splurge on the Inter Contenintal or the Ritz. Next day breakfast at Cafe D, a little recovery time and then jump the train back to Jackson. If you need recommendations for places in New Orleans let me know. Yall will talk about that trip for years!!!
I would say that is "The Dinner Bell" in McComb, Ms. (East of I55)....southern cooking at it's best...greens, corn bread, fried okra, butterbeans, fried chicken, pork chops, etc......still there.....see link..........
The Dinner Bell Restaurant, McComb Ms
In Biloxi, I hear the food at The Hard Rock Casino is terrfic.....sign up for a players card and it is $5........
In Baton Rouge I would suggest....PF Cheng's chinese (try the Chengs Spicy Shrimp fixed the old way) or Great Wall buffet(chinese)....Los Palamos...(Mexican)...DeAngelos...(Italian).....Do n's Seafood....Fleur-De-Lis..(pizza) been there 55 years....
Just 30 min. south of Baton Rouge is the "Houmas House"...an old plantation home with a resturant....take hwy 44 off of I10 to river road.....turn right & go 2 blocks....go thru the gift shop and tell them you are going to eat out back....they will hand you a ticket (no charge) otherwise they will charge you for a tour of the beautiful grounds....which you will see walking to the resturant.....very reasonable prices.....one of our favorite places to take out of towners....
google all these for days and hours of operation...
hope this helps some....
