    Default Unforgettable weekend at Grenada

My good friend John woods needed some help guiding four guys from Illinois this weekend and I was able to oblige. Friday was terriffic. We boated 68 slabs, with close to a two lb. average. The guys from Illinois had the time of their lives. They wanted to sleep in Saturday, so we got a late start. The wind was brutal, and we only caught just a few fish. The guys were tired and decided to quit at 2 PM. As we were loading the boats, the older gentleman in our party, walked up the ramp and got in their car. We pulled the boats up to the parking area and saw their car crashed into someone elses boat trailer. The older gentleman had started the car, put it in reverse, then had a massive heart attack! John and I perfomed CPR on the man until the ambulance arrived. The medics loaded him and took him to the hospital, but he didn't make it. Still seems unreal! It was a very difficult day, and one I will never forget.

There is no doubt he had the best chance of survival with you being there, Carl. Unfortunately, it seems the good lord needed him and it was his time to go. Prayers sent out to his family and friends. I can only hope to go out in the same situation, right after one heck of a fishing trip. RIP.
