So what are you guys fishing right now? Are you just dropping jigs, minnows, or tipping jigs deep when you find the fish? I thought now was still the time to troll deep?

I don't know what I am doing either but from what I gather you slow your presentation in cold water and when trolling cranks you need to pull fast enough to give the baits the proper action. There is probably more too it so I'll defer to the experts.

Right now most everybody is spider rigging either jigs and minners or straight minners. There's prolly some die hards out there that are single poling deep structure though.

Got a buddy here in Grenada that was still pulling Cranks Dec 1 and catching some fish though, but the majority will wait to pull a crank starting in June through maybe October.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Close to being true on the statement "pull fast enough to give the baits the proper action." Sometimes they want it abit faster. I've caught them as fast as 3.4 MPH. More of a "hey, there's something in front of me, I think I'll eat it" type reaction bite than anything else

When the water temperature hits 60 degrees it's on, I don't care what day of the year it is. That seems a long way from the 38 degrees I saw Sunday.

    Default 60 huh?

That's right about Spawn temp right there. Yikes, I had a surface temp at Ross Barnett the other day of 33. Of course I was easing through Ice fields to

Yikes doesn't own a jig pole, prolly never has felt a thump. I suspect he's a closet bass guy, what with his affinity for crank baits!

I had ONE jig pole on Sunday until it was sacrificed to the lake gods via commercial fishing net. LOL

Sly I fished for four hrs today and caught one crappie. A good one mind you, but still only one. Had out two 12' rods with slip-bobbers and minnows and two 10' rods tightlining minnows. I really wouldn't want to see you duplicate my effort of today.
