First in another back a couple of weeks ago anyone could hold one of the positions (didnt have to be a member of Crappie.com), today in this thread you have to be a member of crappie.com in good standing to vote or hold office, and now you have to be at the championship to vote.
The thing a couple a weeks ago was on the phone with someone in office now, my bad.

Believe it or not I have a couple of opinions on this.
I believe voting in person at the championship is the fairest way. It ensures the voters have some skin in the game.
No one has said so, but I bet if you have fished a FJ this year and show up and vote, your vote will be counted.
DD, as long as there is an open forum to debate each and every decision there will be pot stirrers. Major has tried to reign that in, with some degree of success.
I think the biggest challenge is going to be finding people willing to serve.
At a recent election I attended, the floor was opened for nominations, nominations were made, then the vote was held by secret ballot. Seemed to work pretty good.
If you have decided FJ's are not for you, stay off this thread. This thread is for people wanting to fish the FJ's.
I've heard Sat bought the scales. I've heard everyone chipped in, but Sat paid the largest part. Either way, the hat should be passed Sunday until the FJ's own the scales.
Directors having to be in good standing with Crappie.com is BS. If you don't have to be in good standing to fish them, why to be a director? Crappie.com is the venue we use to discuss the FJ's. They don't sponsor us, didn't buy us a set of scales, didn't chip in a grand for our championship, etc. why should Slab be choosing our directors?

Because Slab owns the site we use to communicate and he has given us permission to use his site's name in promoting the series. If you want to question his ownership you can take that up with him and good luck.

ATM, I am willing to help the best I can. Just have to ask.

And I'm not aware that anyone here is choosing directors. For whatever that is worth.

Gewber I don't question who owns the site. That's just ignert. I've had the ownership deal explained to me before. I do question Slab dictating who holds office. I don't believe this is coming from Slab. Sometimes I think these rules get made up as we go along.
If I'm wrong, Slab will be along to straighten me out. "G" is already on it.

Slab and I have nothing to do with the makeing of the FJ rules. We also have nothing to do with how or who is selected for the FJ officers.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I'm confused. "being in good standing with crappie.com" almost goes without saying. If a banned person shows up at the championship and volunteers to be the tournament director or Lake Master next year how would they communicate with us? See?

    Telephone? Text? Email?
The fishing world is full if organizations that are well run without being hashed out in a public forum.
I hope this clears up your confusion.

Just so you all know. I have worked out an arrangement with Paul Alpers whereby Crappie.com can give out a entry to select Crappie Masters tournaments to you Fruit Jar participants. I still have to figure out the details, and I'm talking about 2013. But this is another way Crappie.com can help you guys out no mater what you decide. I do think that this free entry will have to go to an active member though. Just saying. I did not want to hijack your thread or take it into a direction you all didn't want to go.
