    Default The warm-up


    Its above the zero mark this morning [6 degrees right now] and a boat or two is out on the river above Red Wing. That's pushing it a little as far as I'm concerned. I've done the open water at 14 degrees but that trip didn't last terribly long. I can find better things to do on a day like today. As soon as I finish shoveling the dusting of snow we got I am painting jigs, several hundred of them. Lots warmer doing that than listening to ice form on the hull and any exposed body parts..

    -35 below this morning along the Canadian border. Guys were fishing the ice and doing well on walleye.

    well if those guys can catch fish in ice i should be able to catch fish in la. winter time conditions…...

    Yesterday at 7 AM when I left for the ST. Paul ice fishing show it was 28 below Zero.

    Yes. They keep them fairly clear for the lightweights that head that direction.
